March 2026: Hanoi, Vietnam

From March 25-29 2026, I taught a 16-hour mini-course titled “Introduction to Lattice-Based Cryptography” at the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) in Hanoi. I enjoyed the many discussions I had with researchers, professors, and students who attended the course. Vietnam has a long tradition of valuing education, and its university system has made remarkable progress in recent years. I found Hanoi to be a vibrant and enchanting city. To see why, watch the following 18-minute video that I compiled from my photos and recordings.
During my visit, I also took side-trips to see the stunning landscapes of Ninh Binh and Lan Ha Bay.
October-December 2026: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
I’ll be teaching two courses at the University of Science in Ho Chi Minh City. The first is a 45-lecture, 4-credit course on Applied Cryptography, offered to undergraduate students in the Faculties of Information Technology (FIT) and Mathematics and Computer Science (FMCS). Students from the nearby University of Information Technology will also be able to audit the course. Lectures begin on October 17.
The second course is a 16-24 lecture mini-course on Lattice-Based Cryptography, designed for beginning graduate students as well as motivated undergraduate students. If you are interested in attending either course and would like more information, please feel free to email me.
